Construction on the Mason Street parking facility near the Forsyth County Administration Building is resulting in more downtown Cumming parking hassles.

The entrance to Mason Street off of Main Street closed temporarily on Saturday, resulting in the loss of access to a parking lot off of Mason Street that that has spaces for both public and Forsyth County employee parking. There’s no word on when access to the lot will re-open.

The five-level, 491-space Mason Street garage is slated to open later this year as part of the overall courthouse and jail project. It’s the second of two garages that are part of the project; The 222-space Castleberry Parking Facility opened nearby this summer.
