Prominent business leaders in the state have launched an initiative to encourage local business owners to give back to the communities they serve.
The initiative, dubbed goBeyondProfit is led by 14 business leaders in the state, among them Georgia Power CEO Paul Bowers and Georgia Chamber of Commerce President Chris Clark.
The initiative was started by Jackson Healthcare, a healthcare staffing business based in Alpharetta. GoBeyondProfit encourages businesses to contribute their financial resources, time and expertise to community initiatives.
"By celebrating all the ways companies are being generous and raising awareness about the value of giving back, others will want to join in," said the CEO of Jackson Healthcare, Richard L. Jackson in a statement.
Through the program, businesses share best practices and learn from each other.
Jackson urged other businesses in the state to join the initiative, which has so far received the endorsement of 50 local businesses.
“We want business leaders across the state to know that if they are giving back in some way, they are in good company,” Jackson said.
