Breezy conditions from the afternoon are dying down as the sun sets and a cold front is expected to drop temperatures over the next few days, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Here's Severe Weather Team 2 Chief Meteorologist Glenn Burns with a look at your Tuesday evening forecast.

Temperatures just before 9:30 p.m. were 51 degrees in Atlanta, 39 degrees in Blairsville and 44 degrees in Griffin.

“No rain for us today,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said. “But that will change over the next 24 to 36 hours.”

According to the latest forecast, there is a 40 percent chance of rain Wednesday night and a 20 percent chance of rain Thursday morning.

And temperatures are expected to drop toward the freezing mark by Friday.

After lows in the 40s Wednesday and Thursday, metro Atlanta could wake up to temperatures in the 30s Friday and Saturday. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 60s Wednesday, the low 50s Thursday and the high 40s Friday and Saturday.
