UPDATE: Florida State University lifts shelter-in-place order
Florida State University said a situation involving a possibly armed man is under control, according to news outlet WFLA 8.
The university sent an alert to students and staff about noon Monday in Tallahassee, asking them to shelter in place as officers chased a man who might be armed with a handgun near Stadium Drive and Jackson Bluff Road, the TV station reported.
Law Enforcement Officers are in pursuit of a male subject wearing shorts and no shirt, traveling on foot in the direction of Stadium Drive from Jackson Bluff Road. Suspect potentially armed with a hand gun. Continue to Shelter-in-Place. More information to follow.

The university did not provide further information about the man, WFLA reported, but said about 1:20 p.m. the situation was under control. Students can resume normal activities, officials told WFLA.
A “law enforcement presence will remain strong on campus for the immediate future,” an alert said, according to the news station.
The man reportedly was wearing shorts and no shirt, law enforcement officers said.
