A barricaded gunman surrendered to Clayton County officers after he broke into an apartment Monday morning, authorities said.

Officers were called to the complex at 950 Lake Ridge Parkway in Riverdale about 9:10 a.m. and saw a woman fleeing from her apartment, police spokesman Capt. Robert Maddux said from the scene. She told officers that a man broke in and fired a gun inside. The woman was not injured.

The man, identified as 23-year-old Quantevious Lattimore, was able to barricade himself inside, Maddux said. That was when a SWAT team was called to the scene.

Negotiators were able to get Lattimore to come out of the apartment without further incident, Maddux said. He was arrested and taken to the Clayton County Jail.

He was charged with home invasion, false imprisonment, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, pointing a gun at another, criminal damage and hindering a 911 call.
