Worker pinned when car crashes into nail salon
A nail salon worker was seriously injured when a van crashed into a building Wednesday afternoon in Griffin, Channel 2 Action News reported.
But investigators believe the chair she was sitting in may have saved her life.
“What that furniture kind of did was brace that vehicle up in the air a little bit enough to where it wasn’t pinning her totally under the vehicle,” Griffin police Lt. Michael Natale told Channel 2.
Investigators believe an 87-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was backing into a parking spot shortly after 4 p.m. when she lost control of her van and crashed into the salon in the Roses Shopping Center on South Hill Street.
A salon worker was partially pinned and dragged during the crash. She was flown to Atlanta Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the van was not cited, police said.
