A man was wounded Sunday afternoon when a bullet flew into his car and hit him in the abdomen, according to Atlanta police.

After realizing he’d been shot, the man drove himself to Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and called police, officials said in a statement.

He told officers he was sitting in the 900 block of Margaret Place about 3:30 p.m. when he heard gunfire. He didn’t see where the shots came from.

The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is stable, according to police.

It was one of two shootings in the city in a span of about 45 minutes.

About 2:45 p.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and found 39-year-old Bernard Mitchell with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was alert when he was taken to Grady.

A preliminary investigation revealed Mitchell and the shooter had a dispute Saturday and another one Sunday. The gunman shot Mitchell the second time, according to police.

Police have not made arrests in any of the shootings.
