No students were seriously injured when one school bus collided with another at a Coweta County elementary school Monday afternoon.

But nine students were evaluated and treated for minor injuries, according to officials.

Two buses, with a total of 64 students aboard, were lined up for dismissal at Brooks Elementary School when one bus rear-ended the other, Dean Jackson, school system spokesperson, told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Monday afternoon.

Emergency responders arrived at the school, in northwestern Coweta, but no students were expected to be transported to a hospital, Jackson said.

School officials were notifying parents of the incident Monday afternoon, Jackson said. Students on the two routes involved were transported home on other buses, he said.
