A second arrest has been made in connection to an alleged DUI crash that killed a 17-year-old boy, the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said today.

Jeremiah Luke Funke, 18, was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, consumption of alcohol by a minor and maintaining a disorderly house, Deputy Robin Regan said. Investigators believe Funke hosted a party at his family’s Hyde Road home attended by approximately 60 teenagers Saturday night, Regan said.

Funke’s parents were out of town at the time and unaware the party was being hosted, Regan told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Within minutes of leaving the party, a Dodge Ram pickup truck carrying five teenagers hit a telephone pole, ejecting a 17-year-old high school student, according to police.

Paul Louis Castell Jr. died at the scene of the early Sunday crash, which also injured the driver and three passengers, police said. Neither the driver nor the passengers were seriously injured and all were treated and released from the hospital, according to police.

The truck’s driver, Adam Robert Joseph Di Millo, was arrested and charged with vehicular homicide in the first degree, DUI and underage consumption of alcohol, according to police.

“While investigating Sunday morning’s crash, investigators learned that Di Millo, Castell, and the other three passengers had just left 18-year old Jeremiah Luke Funke’s residence in a nearby subdivision on Hyde Road,” Regan said today in an emailed statement. “Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained a search warrant for Funke’s residence, where they discovered that a party had taken place involving approximately 60 teenagers.”

Funke bonded out of the Forsyth County Detention Center after posting a bond amount of $2,365.

Di Millo’s bond was set at $19,965 at his court appearance this morning. He remained in jail this afternoon, Regan said.

At the time of his recent arrest, Di Millo was on probation for two incidents in February, the sheriff’s office said. On Feb. 3 at 11 a.m., he was cited for underage alcohol consumption at a Forsyth County high school, Regan said. The teen was released to his parents.

Within minutes, Di Millo was again cited, police said.

“Shortly after, Di Millo was located walking on a roadway at 11:39 a.m.,” Regan said. “At that time, it was determined Di Millo had left his residence while still under the influence of alcohol.”

In that incident, Di Millo was charged with pedestrian under the influence and transported to the Forsyth County jail.
