Report: Ex-prison officer accused of bringing contraband to Middle Georgia inmate

A former prison officer was arrested at Central State Prison on Monday, according to Macon-based news station WGMT.

Tashica Pettigrew, born in 1994, was charged with simple battery, possession of marijuana, violation of oath, crossing guard line and obstruction of justice, Bibb County jail records show.

She is accused of giving contraband to an inmate, WGMT reported. The Department of Corrections’ investigation is ongoing.

Pettigrew was released from jail Tuesday on $11,365 bond, records show.
