When a Cobb County man set up a meeting to sell his iPhone to a stranger last Wednesday, the deal went sour when the men who showed up allegedly pistol-whipped and beat him with brass knuckles after trying to rob him.

Two of the men, D’juan Mikel Williams and Donte Laquion Tucker, were arrested shortly after fleeing, but police are still searching for the third man.

Police said the victim drove to the Avia East Cobb apartments on Delk Road with an iPhone 7. One man came up to him and got into his car, Cobb police Officer Sarah O’Hara told Channel 2 Action News.

When the man asked to see the phone, the victim asked to see the cash. Then, a second man came up to the window and allegedly pointed a firearm at the victim, demanding all of his money, police said.

When the victim tried to fight back, the men allegedly started beating him, pistol-whipping the man as well as hitting him with brass knuckles, according to police. One man fired a gunshot.

A witness, Allison Myers, told Channel 2 she was in her living room with her baby when she suddenly heard a “pop.” Then she heard a loud scream.

When Myers went outside, she saw three men running into the woods.

“I look down, and I saw the young guy, grabbing his stomach, and he was screaming. I said, are you OK? He said no and collapsed between my car and someone else’s car,” Myers told Channel 2.

Williams and Tucker are in the Cobb County Jail with no bond on charges of armed robbery, according to jail records.
