A Gwinnett County driver services office is closed after a car smashed through the window of the building Wednesday morning.

The crash happened at the Norcross location in the 2200 block of Beaver Ruin Road about 11 a.m., according to Department of Driver Services spokeswoman Susan Sports.

She said the driver was not on a road test at the time.

The man, who is in his 50s, hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and drove his car through a plate glass window, according to Norcross police spokeswoman Sgt. Arelis Rivera.

Rivera said the man will not be charged.

Two customers inside the building were taken to a hospital with “minor injuries,” Sports said.

The office is closed while authorities assess the damage and ensure the building is secure. Sports urged those in need of service to visit the Alpharetta or Lawrenceville locations.
