Mega Millions jackpot at $144M; Powerball reaches $121M

UPDATE: [Wednesday, 11 p.m.]: Wednesday night's winning Powerball numbers are 13, 38, 45, 20 and 55 with the Powerball being 1.

[Tuesday, 11 p.m.]: Tuesday night's winning Mega Millions numbers were 70, 3, 5, 1 and 8 with the MegaBall being 3.

ORIGINAL STORY: Tuesday night's Mega Millions jackpot will hit $144 million, while Wednesday's Powerball jackpot will be an estimated $121 million.

The Mega Millions jackpot began growing May 8 and has rolled over 10 times. The jackpot offers two payment options, either the $144 million annuity prize with one immediate payment and 29 more annual payments, or a cash option of $85 million.

Drawings for the Mega Millions jackpot take place at 11 p.m. every Tuesday and Friday on Channel 2 Action News.

The Powerball jackpot began rolling over May 23. It also offers two payment options, either $121 million paid out over 29 years, or $72 million upon winning.

Drawings for the Powerball jackpot take place at 11 p.m. every Wednesday and Saturday.

Each lottery costs $2 per ticket and benefits Georgia education, including the HOPE scholarship program and Georgia’s Pre-K program.
