A Coweta County man will spend the rest of his life in prison for shooting two men execution style in 2014.

Jarico Deshun Brown admitted Thursday to killing Allen Cantrell, 20, and military veteran Wes Watson, 26, in what he intended to be a robbery in Newnan, Coweta County District Attorney Pete Skandalakis said.

For his blind plea, Brown received a life sentence plus 15 years.

Neighbors discovered the two bodies before police arrived at Cantrell’s Widgeon Road home, Skandalakis said.

A few hours later, Coweta sheriff’s deputies found Brown and girlfriend Keyna Nneaka Sewell holed up inside a motel. Brown confessed to the murder when the gun used was recovered, Skandalakis said.

Brown had told Sewell he wanted to rob the two men but was afraid they’d attack him. Police said Brown and the victims hadn’t had much interaction and that there was no evidence they had anything against Brown.

Sewell, who was sleeping during the shooting, had originally been charged with murder. But she pleaded guilty earlier this month to attempting to conceal a death, giving false statements and giving false information to police. She was sentenced to 10 years with two to serve.

Brown will not be considered for parole until 2047.
