Service is back to normal at MARTA’s Medical Center station Friday morning after a sewage leak from a nearby apartment complex caused delays for 15 hours, according to the transit authority.

The northbound platform was closed at 3 p.m. and southbound trains were being single-tracked while officials worked to cleanup the mess at the station on Peachtree-Dunwoody Road in Sandy Springs. Regular service resumed just before 5:30 a.m. Friday, officials said.

The leak was capped quickly Thursday, MARTA spokeswoman Stephany Fisher said, but cleanup lasted through the night.
