Amy Renee Tyson, 32, was found in her cell at the Coffee County Jail about 5:15 a.m. Tuesday, the GBI said in a news release.

Tyson was arrested on drug-related charges Sunday, officials said. She was being held in the medical department of the jail.

Tyson’s body was taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon for an autopsy.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office at 912-384-4227 or the GBI Region 4 office at 912-389-4103.
