A fight at a DeKalb County McDonald’s led an employee to a hospital after a customer shot him.

The shooting happened at the McDonald’s restaurant on Wesley Chapel Road in Decatur just before 7:15 p.m. Friday, police said.

Two customers were arguing with two restaurant employees, officials said. The details of how the argument started are unclear. As the verbal altercation escalated, one of the customers pulled out a gun.

The man shot an employee in the leg, police said. Then, both customers ran away.

The employee was taken to a local hospital. His injuries were non-life-threatening, according to police.
