A deadly wreck is affecting Gwinnett County traffic Tuesday afternoon.

A fatal wreck involving a car and a box truck shut down a busy Gwinnett County intersection, authorities confirmed.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon on Steve Reynolds Boulevard near Venture Drive, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center. A black car could be seen under the box truck, and one person in the passenger car is dead, Gwinnett police told AJC.com.

All eastbound lanes of Steve Reynolds Boulevard were blocked as a result of the crash, and Venture Drive traffic was being redirected through parking lots, the Traffic Center reported. All lanes have since reopened.

No other details have been released. Gwinnett police said more information will be available Wednesday.

This incident came hours after another deadly crash in the county. A 76-year-old Columbus man was killed in a single-vehicle accident on West Main Street near Knollwood Drive in Snellville, AJC.com reported. He was killed after the load on his tractor-trailer shifted, police said.
