Police are looking for a gunman in a shooting at a park near Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta.

The victim, Jeffrey Powell, told Atlanta police that he tried to intervene when three men were asking pedestrians for money July 26 at Hardy Ivy Park.

Two of the men jumped Powell and pushed him to the ground, at which point the third man took out a gun and fired twice into the air before shooting the victim in the right thigh, according to the police report.

In a video released by the department, police identify someone they believe to be connected to the shooting with a red circle four seconds in. He walks along the park and out of camera view. At one minute, the video shows a man in a blue shirt with a backpack. Police also believe he is connected to the shooting. Thirty seconds later, he can be seen walking away with the man from the beginning of the video, joined by a third man.

A witness told police that the men, who she believed were in their late 20s or 30s, fled northbound on Peachtree Street.

The shooting suspect is wanted on a charge of aggravated assault with a gun.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
