All lanes have reopened on I-285 in DeKalb County after a vehicle fire and fuel spill delayed traffic for hours Thursday morning.

The vehicle caught fire in the westbound lanes near Ashford Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody police said in a Facebook post about 5 a.m. Thursday. Around the same time, fuel spilled onto the roadway after two semitrucks crashed near Chamblee Dunwoody Road. That prompted authorities to close all lanes, according to the post.

Part of the interstate reopened around 6 a.m., but the trip time between Buford Highway and Ashford Dunwoody Road exceeded an hour well after that, the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center reported.

Traffic started flowing again hours later.

Details about injuries have not been provided.

We’re working to learn more about both crash investigations.
