At least 1 reportedly dead after 3-alarm fire in Philadelphia

At least one person has died after a massive three-alarm fire Thursday in South Philadelphia, according to an NBC reporter.

Multiple people reportedly were trapped after a house apparently exploded, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Four row houses have partially collapsed, according to a Philadelphia radio station.

More than 100 firefighters battled the blaze in the 1400 block of South 8th Street in South Philadelphia.
2nd alarm means more than 100 PFD members are responding, plus reps from our partners at L&I, @PhilaOEM, @PhillyPolice, @SEPTA and many others.

The fire apparently started at a middle row home and then spread to adjacent homes.
