Gwinnett County police have identified a woman killed in a car wreck Friday afternoon that shut down a busy road for hours.

Valerie Dunham, 73, of Lawrenceville, was killed when she turned left from Pleasant Hill Road onto Arc Way, Gwinnett police spokesman Cpl. Collin Flynn said. According to the initial investigation, Dunham made the left turn in her Honda Fit in front of a Toyota Camry.

Dunham died at the scene as a result of her injuries from the crash, Flynn said. The driver of the Camry, who was not identified, was not injured, and no other injuries were reported, Flynn said.

Pleasant Hill Road was blocked at Arc Way, northwest of Cruse Road, for more than an hour after the fatal wreck, Flynn said.
