A 62-year-old Roswell woman was killed Tuesday in a crash in east Cobb County, officials said.

The crash happened about 10:40 a.m. at the intersection of Shallowford Road and Chimney Lake Drive, Cobb police spokeswoman Shenise McDonald said in a news release.

According to investigators, a red dump truck was traveling west on Shallowford Road while a white Lincoln MKZ was in the left turn lane on Chimney Lake Drive preparing to turn east onto Shallowford, the release said. As the dump truck approached with a green traffic signal, it struck the driver’s side of the Lincoln, which had just entered the intersection, according to McDonald.

Janet Muse, who was driving the Lincoln, was pronounced dead at the scene. The dump truck driver, identified as 50-year-old Keith Rosado of Cartersville, was not injured.

No charges are pending.

The roads were blocked for more than an hour as Cobb Department of Transportation crews worked to clear the scene. Both roads reopened just after 1 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
