After first being detained as a person of interest, a Bibb County man has been charged with murder related to a fatal shooting in South Fulton.

Daniel Lee Chatman Jr., 39, of Macon, was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Sept. 30, one day after the shooting, online jail records show. He is facing charges of murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and multiple drug counts. Chatman remains in jail without bond.

The shooting took place near the intersection of Butner Road and Springbox Drive, South Fulton police said in a news release. No other details have been released about the circumstances of the shooting or Chatman’s arrest.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 43-year-old Donta Willis. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has reached out for updates about the incident.
