Basketball is one of America's most beloved sports. But Atlanta's admiration for the court trumps other places, because it has been named one of the best cities for basketball fans by WalletHub.

The personal finance site determined its results by analyzing 293 of the largest cities using 17 metrics including top-performing teams, revenues and traditions. Those sections were filtered into two major categories: NBA and NCAA rank.

ATL was No. 17 overall. Los Angeles, Boston and Oakland took the top three spots, respectively.

While the The Peach City fell to the bottom of the pack at No. 245 for the NCAA ranking, it was No. 13 on the NBA list. It also earned points for lowest average ticket price for NBA games, coming in at No. 5.

It was the highest-ranked Georgia city on the list. Macon was No. 172, Savannah was No. 280 and Kennesaw was No. 281.
