It’s going to be another scorcher of a day in metro Atlanta on Thursday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Ashley Kramlich warns.

Highs will climb back into the upper 90s this afternoon, and with so much humidity, it’s going to feel closer to the triple digits. Some of us could see a few isolated showers and thunderstorms, too.

“It’s not going to be a washout, but these hit-or-miss showers and storms are going to be likely over the next few days,” Kramlich said.

Friday will have similar conditions with slightly lower temperatures. Highs then are expected to top out around 93 degrees in the city, and that will be the pattern through Labor Day weekend.

“By the way, last year, in total, we saw 65 days of highs in the 90s. The last day that we had a high in the 90-degree range was on Sept. 12. This year, we’re already up to 62 ... I think we’re going to surpass last year’s number,” Kramlich said.

Some relief comes after Labor Day, though. Highs then are projected to take a dip into the low to mid 80s.
