Atlanta will wake up to another hot and humid morning on Labor Day, according to Channel 2 Action News.

There should be plenty of morning sunshine following overnight temperatures that dropped to the low 70s. By the afternoon, temperatures should climb back into the low-90s, despite clouds and storms rolling through metro Atlanta.

“As we heat up we are going to see those clouds bubbling up, and more showers and storms will get going throughout the day into the evening hours,” Channel 2 meteorologist Eboni Deon said.

After the holiday weekend, a cold front is expected to arrive by Tuesday, when highs will top out at 83 degrees. Wednesday should be a few degrees cooler, while highs on Thursday and Friday will be in the upper 70s. There is a 60% chance of rain for both of those days.

“The middle to latter part of the workweek will see afternoon highs much cooler than normal,” Deon said. “Not even making it out of the upper 70s with the chance of rain blasting through the first half of the weekend.”
