Carlether Foley was an aspiring actress who had been working in independent productions since 2018.

An aspiring actress is dead and her neighbor is in jail after the man’s gun fired through their shared apartment wall while he was loading it, according to Gwinnett County police.

Carlether Foley, 36, of Duluth, was found unresponsive by her son with a gunshot wound to the head, Gwinnett police spokeswoman Hideshi Valle confirmed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Her son called 911 and Gwinnett Fire units alerted police that Foley’s death was the result of a gunshot wound and that a bullet hole could be seen in her apartment wall.

Foley’s neighbor at the MAA McDaniel Farm apartment complex, 22-year-old Maxwell Williamson, was arrested Sunday on charges of involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct, online jail records show. Williamson was loading his gun in his apartment when the weapon accidentally discharged, Valle said. After inadvertently firing the gun, Williamson left Foley a note about the damage, unaware that she had been killed, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Foley was an actress with a handful of independent productions on her resume since 2018.

Williamson was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail, where he remains without bond.
