Macon authorities have arrested a duo who are accused of choking a dog with its collar.
A Bibb County Sheriff's Office deputy was called to a home on Winton Avenue Friday after a report of animal cruelty, according to news station WMAZ. Upon his arrival two officers from another agency reported that a bulldog-lab mix had been taken to the animal hospital with a cord embedded in its neck, which was compressing the jugular veins and causing the dog's head to swell and eyes to turn red.
The officers discovered that Fabian Scott, 34, and Lashawn Wall, 32, owned the injured pet.
According to the report, it appeared that the dog’s collar was never adjusted as it grew older and it started digging into its skin.
“The flesh around the neck became necrotic and putrid,” the report says.
Authorities made unsuccessful attempts to contact Scott and Wall at their home. Later warrants were issued for the duo
Scott and Wall were both arrested and charged with cruelty to animal on Wednesday.
