A 25-year-old Atlanta man accused in a shooting death that police believe followed an argument was arrested Tuesday.

Brandon Dean was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and charged with murder in the death of Leon Carr, 34, of Atlanta, Officer John Chafee with Atlanta police said.

On Oct. 5, police were called to the 500 block of Boulevard in northeast Atlanta on a report that a person had been shot. Officers arrived to find Carr dead from a gunshot wound, according to police.

The preliminary investigation indicated the shooting may have been the result of an argument that escalated into gunfire, police previously said.

An arrest warrant was issued last week for Dean, who was booked Tuesday into the Fulton County jail. Dean was being held Tuesday night without bond.
