Decatur police have charged three men, two of whom are in custody, after two people were carjacked at gunpoint in as many days.

Following one arrest in late July, investigators have identified two additional men suspected in separate Decatur carjackings.

Two of the three men are in custody, while the other remains at large.

D’Anthony Thomas, 27, and Jaime Hunter, 26, join 24-year-old Rieley Chester Fuller as suspects in the series of carjackings, according to the Decatur Police Department. Thomas is in custody in another jurisdiction and Fuller was arrested on multiple charges the evening of July 30.

Investigators are actively searching for Hunter and have released his photo to the public.

The three men are accused in two carjackings that happened within a 24-hour span July 22-23, Decatur police said.

The first happened on Mimosa Place just before 6 p.m. on July 22. A woman was held at gunpoint by three men who demanded the keys to her 2021 Jeep Cherokee, police said. She gave them the keys and one man drove the SUV away while the others followed in a black Toyota Corolla.

The second carjacking took place about 1:15 p.m. the following day on Kirk Crossing Drive, police said. A man was moving some things from his house when he was held up by two men, one of whom had a handgun. The men demanded the keys to the victim’s silver 2015 Audi sedan, then one of them hit the victim in the face, according to police. A third man with a gun then walked up the driveway, authorities said, and ordered the victim to look at the ground as the other two tried to start the car.

****UPDATE**** Jaime Hunter was arrested on these charges on 08-24-2021. Thank you to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office...

Once they got the Audi started, the two men drove away with the third following in a black sedan.

Less than a week later, Fuller was arrested and charged with two counts of hijacking a motor vehicle, one count of battery and one count of theft by receiving stolen property, according to jail records. He remains in jail without bond.

Decatur police secured arrest warrants for Thomas and Hunter on charges related to the carjackings but did not specify the exact counts for each man. Investigators did not say where Thomas was in custody, but did ask the public for assistance in finding Hunter.
