Courtney Dion Rogers, 17, and Keith Pharms, 21, both of South Fulton, were arrested.

Two young men were recently arrested after being tied to violent crimes in South Fulton, authorities said.

On Thursday, the city’s police department announced the arrests of Courtney Dion Rogers, 17, and Keith Pharms, 21, both of South Fulton. For four months and two months, respectively, they had been on the run.

Rogers is accused of shooting a juvenile in the 3000 block of Sable Run on April 25, according to an incident report that AJC.com obtained through an open records request.

The gunshot victim’s information was redacted, so the juvenile’s age is unknown. Police spokesman Sgt. Jubal Rogers said the victim was 14. The report did not list a motive or any other information about the shooting.

Courtney Rogers is also accused of shooting 17-year-old Jayln Nowon on July 31, Jubal Rogers said. That shooting took place in the same location, and the motive is also unknown, he added.

Courtney Rogers was arrested Thursday in Riverdale by U.S. marshals and faces counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and third-degree child cruelty, the department said. He remains in the Fulton County Jail without bond, records show.

On June 7, Pharms is accused of carjacking a man’s pickup truck, which was hauling two all-terrain vehicles, according to another incident report.

The victim drove from Barnesville to meet someone he met through Facebook Marketplace after the person showed interest in buying the two ATVs, the report said. The agreed meeting spot was the Family Dollar parking lot at 6385 Old National Highway.

Pharms, along with two other men, arrived at the location in a Nissan Altima, while the victim drove up in a 2020 Ford F-150 that was hauling the ATVs, the report said.

As the victim was about to sign over the titles, Pharms is accused of hopping into the truck, pointing a gun at the victim and driving off. The two other men then drove away in the Nissan.

Police were able to recover one of the stolen ATVs at a location along Hurst Trail, and they briefly spotted the other one. However, it was being driven by one of the suspects, who fled after being spotted.

It’s unclear if police ever recovered the stolen pickup truck, ATV and trailer, which are worth an estimated $63,000, according to the report. Pharms was arrested Thursday by U.S. marshals at an apartment complex off Washington Road in South Fulton.

He faces counts of motor vehicle hijacking, theft by receiving, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and several driving citations, jail records show. Pharms, who remains in custody without bond, also has a hold out of Douglas County.
