Nery Molina-Gallegos is charged with murder.

A week after two unrelated fatal shootings took place in Gwinnett County within an hour of one another, authorities have made an arrest in one of the cases, charging a DeKalb County man with murder.

Nery Molina-Gallegos, 20, of Tucker, is facing multiple charges related to the shooting death of 21-year-old Pascual Jose Sarabia, Gwinnett sheriff’s office spokeswoman Ashley Castiblanco said in a news release Friday.

Molina-Gallegos was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on Wednesday night on one count of felony murder, one count of aggravated battery and four counts of aggravated assault, jail records show. He remains in jail without bond.

Sarabia’s fatal shooting was the first Gwinnett police responded to in the early morning hours of Sept. 24. Officers were called to a home on Forest Bend Lane in Snellville and found Sarabia inside with a gunshot wound to the torso. Authorities have not released a motive in the killing.

The second shooting took place less than an hour later, Gwinnett police said. An off-duty officer working security at a karaoke restaurant on Britt Road heard shots and went to investigate. The officer found three victims, including one who was declared dead at the scene and two injured by gunfire. The two injured men were taken to the hospital and later released.

No further information has been released about that incident.
