As part of the city’s Tree Planting Partnership Program, the Roswell City Council recently approved an application from the Sweet Apple Elementary School Girl Scout Troop 20545 to plant and maintain five mature hardwood trees.

Girl Scout Troop 20545 has proposed increasing Roswell’s tree canopy by planting and maintaining five 10-foot tall, minimum 2.5 caliper hardwood trees at Sweet Apple Elementary School, 12025 Etris Rd.

To prevent erosion and ensure code compliance, the troop will also install a mulch border against the school buildings. They will cover $1,335, or 25%, of the proposed costs, volunteer design, prepare the site for planting, install the new trees, and over two years of post-planting volunteer, labor, and maintenance as an in-kind donation.

Roswell will purchase and deliver the 5 hardwood trees.
