Several ordinance amendments were approved by the Locust Grove City Council at its Nov. 1 regular meeting regarding standard operating procedure of its police department.
Ordinance changes were approved regarding the use of body-worn cameras by officers when on official duty; regulations for wearing the department uniform and appropriate civilian attire when officially representing the department; use of intermediate weapons such as pepper spray or expandable batons; and proper measures when maintaining prisoners in the department’s holding cells.
All of these measures were approved by the unanimous vote of the council. Also approved were a third-quarter budget amendment and a list of city vehicles declared surplus.
