The McDonough City Council met Sept. 20 and approved a vehicle purchase while also reviewing a rezoning request. The council approved the purchase for the community development department of a pair of 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 trucks at a total cost of $57,450. That amount is budgeted accordingly in that department. A three-quarter-acre piece of property at 94 Macon Street referred to in staff documents as the Copeland House, currently zoned for multi-family use, is being considered for neighborhood commercial zoning. The final public hearing and council action is expected to take place at the Oct. 7 regular meeting. Information: mcdonoughga.org.
