Dive bars are those neighborhood joints where everyone knows your name, and you can get "cheap beer, standard liquor and mixed drinks whose names are also a list of their own ingredients."
When we asked where Atlantans go to hang out with friends in a low-key environment, we got about 1,000 votes. The top three finishers walked away with about half those votes.
Finishing third was Northside Tavern. The tavern's home was built in the 1940s "as a neighborhood grocery store/gas station and it evolved over the years into a neighborhood blue collar bar called Northside Package," its website states. "A fixture of the area and a stopping place of refreshment for many years, this lively musical gathering spot has been under continuous ownership by the same family since 1975."
