Julie Minton decorates with a light hand, making sure not to clutter her home.

“I believe there’s beauty in simplicity,” she said. “It’s not necessary to overdecorate to create a warm and inviting space.”

But when a water main broke in Doug and Julie Minton’s home in February 2017 while they were just settling in with their 5-week-old infant, life became chaotic. Flooding caused extensive damage to the master bathroom and most of their downstairs, which required renovations and replacing floors.

“We had to make decisions very quickly,” she said. “It was definitely worth it in the end.”
