Walkways enhance home's curb appeal

Casual and welcoming, the random pattern bluestone walkway complements the house and the crushed, pea gravel driveway.

The stoop, sidewalk and driveway are made of clay brick pavers, laid in a basket-weave pattern. The brick replaced a concrete driveway and a tiny concrete walkway to the front door.

In this six-foot-wide walkway, colorant was mixed into the concrete before it was poured. Lined with boxwood, the walkway features a score pattern.

Concrete pavers can be used in formal or casual settings and blend with most architectural styles. This walkway features Belgard subterra permeable pavers.

Homeowner Karen Johnson wanted a new flagstone walkway from her front door to the street of her Cobb County neighborhood, which features brick sidewalks.

This bluestone walk is eight-feet-wide and can double as patio space. The stone is dry laid, which means there is no mortar. There is base of crushed gravel, and an inch of sand was added for leveling. The stone is set onto the compacted base.

George Vail designed the staggered front walk his Roswell home, which was on the 2012 Modern Atlanta Home Tour. Vail calculated the sizes and layout of the concrete pavers, which were poured on site. Mixing pavers with slate chip allows rain water to be absorbed back into the ground.

Made to withstand heavy foot traffic and climate changes, pavers come in many sizes, styles, colors and to match any exterior scheme. This walkway features Belgard pavers and trim. Mixing paver styles and textures offers a unique look.
