As Georgia bars remain closed, many people have resorted to sipping a cocktail at home. But they may not know what it takes to craft the ideal version of their favorite beverage by themselves.
That’s where a virtual cocktail class comes in.

Josh Suchan, owner and chief consultant of Los Angeles-based Ice and Alchemy, is hosting one and a half-hour long classes for home bartenders online through Virtual Cocktail Classes by Ice and Alchemy.
For $20, attendees will learn how to make three cocktails, with the first two being used as “examples to the bigger picture” of “understanding cocktail structure so that when people leave the class they can create endless, customized cocktails at home.”
"I want to take the fundamentals that I train in my bar programs into your homes," Suchan said in the event description. "Once you learn these, you'll be able to explore any flavor combinations you can imagine. I'll suggest spirits for the specific class that you're in, but these recipes are designed to allow you to use any spirit you'd like!"

Classes are hosted Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays through June 26.
Wednesdays are the Whiskey 1 Class while Thursdays focus on pre-prohibition cocktails and Fridays are about post-prohibition cocktails. In class two, Suchan instructs attendees on the old fashioned and the Tom Collins as well as history, tips and tricks. In class three, the bartender moves on to teaching how to customize the Moscow mule and margarita.
A list of tools is provided online and ingredients are sent in the welcome email upon signing up.
