As people continue to remain at home, many have resorted to getting crafty in the kitchen. While baking has been a popular choice, others have taken happy hour into their own hands and searched for cocktail recipes.
The Daily Meal reported that people have been searching for a variety of drinks, including frozen daiquiris and martinis. Trends have emerged among the states — and Georgia is no exception.

Over the past 30 days, Georgians have been uniquely searching for the sazerac. Made with cognac, absinthe, one sugar cube and Peychaud’s bitters, the Daily Meal describes it as “a complex drink.”
The beverage is touted as the official cocktail of New Orleans by the Sazerac Co., which explains the drink's origins on its website.
The story goes that in 1838, local apothecary owner Antoine Amedie Peychaud treated his friends to his brandy toddies recipe, which included his “Peychaud's Bitters.” made from a secret family recipe. Using a double-ended egg cup as a measuring cup for the toddies, it’s said that spurred the birth of the world’s first cocktail.

The sazerac cocktail recipe was changed in 1873 to replace French brandy with American Rye whiskey and calling for a dash of absinthe. By the 21st century, the official sazerac cocktail recipe was altered to use Sazerac Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey.
However, the stiff beverage may not be everyone’s taste. And some have been OK with venturing to the grocery store to grab a beverage they don’t have to mix.
In April, Joybird analyzed Google search data and found that White Claw was the top-searched hard seltzer in the Peach State. The analysis by the custom furniture and modern home decor company also found that in the South, White Claw mango was the favorite flavor.
