The Basil Limonada from La Tavola in Virginia-Highland is available all year around, but I particularly love it in the summer. Will they share the recipe so I can make it when I can’t get to the restaurant? — Ella Boyd, Sandy Springs
This cocktail was created by La Tavola’s bartender Kris Zimmermann. She says creating it was simple. “I was looking for a summery porch cocktail and I’ve always loved lemonade, It was really that simple.” Her family is originally from Tremonti in Campagnia, Italy. “It’s a quaint little town just above the coast from the Amalfi Coast and I grew up with lemon trees and basil in my backyard!”
La Tavola is now open for dine-in and patio dining Wednesday through Sundays and take out is available via online ordering.
