Lindsay Lohan paired messy, bleached-blond locks with a conservative blue sweater and black trousers to her probabtion hearing Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012. The starlet's court appearance marked another positive step for Lohan, as Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner told the actress she is on track to complete the terms of her probation by the end of March.

The actress has until Nov. 9 to report for her jail term, and Sautner ruled she cannot serve house arrest, as she did previously this year.

More than her outfit, Lohan's choice of makeup was the most discussed aspect of her fashion choices for this most recent court appearance. Lohan seemed to have gone heavy on the blush.

At Lohan's March 10 court appearance, at which she rejected a plea agreement, LiLo stuck with a neutral palette that might subliminally suggest innocence -- might. But where did she go wrong? The dress is skin-tight and leather -- maybe not Mother Teresa kind of attire.

For her Feb. 23, 2011 court appearance, where she was hoping to score a plea deal on felony jewelry theft charges, Lindsay went for a "conservative" look. Remaining are the black and white color scheme and the plunging neckline, courtroom signatures for the troubled actress.

Lindsay flashes a smile, but alas, the judge says that any plea deal in the case will include jail time. What will Lindsay's next fashion choice be?

Most likely, Lindsay Lohan will be wearing a lot of orange in her future.

White usually symbolizes purity and innocence, but not so much when Lindsay Lohan poured her body into this skintight Kimberly Ovitz creation to appear on felony grand theft charges in February 2011.

The natural redhead appeared with dark hair for her 2010 court appearance related to a missed probation hearing on drunk driving charges. Just a day later, she had her locks dyed blonde, perhaps to complement the new SCRAM alcohol monitoring bracelet she was ordered to wear.

Staying with the black-and-white theme, Lindsay Lohan arrived for her probation violation hearing at the Beverly Hills Courthouse in October 2010. The judge stated that he would not be manipulated by her, so we're guessing the skintight jeans did her no favors. Judge Elden S. Fox ordered Lohan back to rehab.

Wake up, Lindsay! We're not legal experts but we're guessing falling asleep in court is not recommended.

If only Lindsay had stuck to fashion crimes instead of real ones, she might not be shedding tears. The judge sentenced Lindsay Lohan to 90 days in jail after ruling she violated probation in a 2007 drug case by failing to attend court-ordered alcohol education classes.

Lindsay was handed a 90-day jail sentence for a 2010 probation violation. She went from this lovely outfit to a garish orange outfit, better known as a prison uniform.

Regardless of what Lindsay decides to wear to court, she should work on eliminating those eye-rolls and scowls in the courtroom. Not flattering, LiLo.
