Irina Shayk was selected to appear on the cover of the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. The 25-year-old Russian model learned at a taping of David Letterman's show that she won the coveted spot from a photo shoot months ago in Hawaii. She had been in the wildly popular issue five times before.

Shayk waves to the audience on the "Today" show, where she talked about being picked for the cover of the swimsuit edition of Sports Illustrated.

For those enamored by the model, they are out of luck. Irina Shayk is the girlfriend of soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

How does she maintain her great figure? "I do work out five times a week, but I'm never dieting," Shayk said.

While modeling new fashion lines is more routine for Shayk, modeling for Sports Illustrated has its benefits as well. She now has a wardrobe of hundreds of bathing suits.

For Shayk, being beautiful is more than skin-deep. "I try to be healthy because to be happy and healthy on the inside shows on the outside."
