Tamar Braxton, who became a reality show star a decade ago on “Braxton Family Values,” announced on Instagram that she has made her first real estate investment project in Atlanta: a community of luxury gated homes.

Braxton, who also was able to parlay that fame into a viable R&B music career, said it’s a $10 million “subdivision project and I’m super excited about it.” She described it as a “small upscale private gated community that will have a nature walking trail, fishing pond, basketball court, pool etc.”

She said the homes will start at $1 million, located 15 minutes from Buckhead. She credited her manager Marquise Gold for the opportunity and getting her started in real estate.

Braxton said she also plans to do other real estate deals, including affordable housing in her hometown of Baltimore.

An assistant for Braxton did not respond to an AJC query regarding more details about the investment.

Braxton left the show “Braxton Family Values” last year but the other family members continued shooting the show without her. She told “Entertainment Tonight” how she felt disrespected because she and her ex-husband helped start the show in 2011. She said the show did cause stress on her relationships with other family members and spent many months not in contact with many of them.

She recently told TMZ that she is working on a new TV show but provided no details

Braxton has not regularly lived in Atlanta but her sister Towanda resides here. Toni Braxton, who was the most famous of the sisters when the show began thanks to her music career, used to live in Atlanta.
