The film, which stars Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as Beast, will be released March 17, 2017.

"Beauty and the Beast" is the latest in Disney's efforts to reimagine its classic animated films.

Over the past few years, Disney has released either full retellings of films like "Cinderella" and "The Jungle Book," or have released movies from another character's perspective, like "Maleficent."

Disney also has live-action adaptations in the works for "Mary Poppins," "Mulan" and "Snow White."
