Singer Pink has never been one to mince words or shy away from hard times in her life, and it's true now more than ever in a Monday interview with USA Today.

The 39-year-old singer did the interview while promoting for her new album, "Hurts 2B Human." One  song in particular, "Happy," is brutally honest.

“Since I was 17, I’ve always hated my body / And it feels like my body’s hated me,” she sings in one verse.

"The reason I said (that) is because I've always had this very tomboy, very strong gymnast body, but actually at 17 I had a miscarriage and I was going to have that child,” she said. “But when that happens to a woman or a young girl, you feel like your body hates you and like your body is broken, and it's not doing what it's supposed to do.

“I’ve had several miscarriages since, so I think it’s important to talk about what you’re ashamed of, who you really are and the painful (expletive). I’ve always written that way.”

Pink also sang about her marriage to Carey Hart in the song.

“Since I was 22 I’ve been with somebody who loves me / And I’ve been trying to believe it’s true / But my head always messes up my heart no matter what I do,” she sings.

Earlier this month, she spoke with Carson Daly about her marriage, saying that they’ve gone to couples counseling for most of their relationship.

"Carey and I have been in couples counseling almost our entire 17 years that we've been together," she said in a "Today" show interview, according to People. They've been married for 13 years.

In 2008, Hart and Pink announced they were separating, and Pink addressed the breakup in her single "So What," but they later reconciled.

Now, Pink says, her husband is "the biggest part" of her inner circle, which she said may include adopting children in the future.

"I'm still completely open to that," she told USA Today. "That's what I want -- I've gotta get (Carey) on board. I keep telling him I want a baby and he keeps building me motorcycles."
