Adele, husband Simon Konecki announce separation
Vocal powerhouse Adele has separated from her husband, Simon Konecki, her representatives confirmed in a statement.
"Adele and her partner have separated," representatives Benny Tarantini and Carl Fysh said in an emailed statement to The Associated Press. "They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment."
Adele, who is intensely private about her personal life, only confirmed that she was married when thanking Konecki in her acceptance speech for Album of the Year at the 2017 Grammys.
“Grammys, I appreciate it. The Academy, I love you,” she said. “My manager, my husband and my son -- you’re the only reason I do it.”
The 30-year-old singer and 44-year-old entrepreneur and philanthropist welcomed their only child, a son named Angelo, Oct. 19, 2012, People reported.
The publication reported that Adele was photographed as recently as March walking into a New York recording studio without a wedding band.
