Three members of the Atlanta Association of Health Care Recruiters (AAHCR) were honored at the fifth annual AJCjobs 2015 Outstanding Recruiter Awards on June 2. About 75 people attended the event at Le Méridien Atlanta Perimeter, which marked National Healthcare Recruiters Recognition Day. 26 healthcare recruiters from across the metro area were nominated for the AJCjobs 2015 Outstanding Recruiter Awards. The top honorees were Caron Holzer of Northside Hospital, Stacey Adams of Piedmont Healthcare, and Alex Almanza of Emory Healthcare.
Holzer, who was nominated by Lori Anne Roberson, was cited for increasing recruitment efficiency and providing stellar customer service. “As her Manager, I receive numerous compliments not only from her hiring managers but by her new hires and candidates. She takes the time to listen and learn about her departments and their needs,” the nomination read.
Adams was nominated by Tamara Henson for her managing a heavy requisition load while keeping her time to fill under 50 days. “She has a high volume requisition load of 98 open positions and constantly receives recognition from the CNO at Piedmont Fayette and Piedmont Newnan. She has attended many career fairs and the NTI Critical Care Nursing Conference at the San Diego Convention Center to help find talent for Piedmont Healthcare.”
Almanza, who was nominated by Mary Beth Allen, was cited for increasing productivity and saving the company money. “Alex developed a comprehensive strategy to improve our recruiting process by creating an interdisciplinary recruiting focus group, which resulted in dramatically increased hiring manager satisfaction, and elimination of 53% of job board vacancies and 42% reduction in days to fill.” The nomination went on to read, “Alex worked to eliminate 100% of external contract labor, resulting in an annual contract labor expense reduction.”
