North Carolina yarn manufacturer Parkdale America was cited by the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration with 16 safety and health violations after the death of a worker in a company facility in Lavonia last September.
The worker fell from a rolling ladder while replacing a part on a spinning machine, according to OSHA
The agency cited the company for one serious violation related related to the worker's death, failing to ensure the rubber feet were installed on the bottom of the mobile ladder. It proposed $62,337 in penalties. The company can comply, request a conference or contest the findings.
